A trip back to Jamestown
Well after not going home for a while, I finally made it back home.
First stop...
You know I couldn't find my pictures of AJ's, but this guy with a website in Lockport had a picture on his, and was just going ga-ga over AJ's... I guess he learned the secret that we have know for years!!!

Second stop... Pink Stripe Cookies!!!!
Yes you are looking down into my bag of Pink Stripe Cookies from Ecklof's Bakery. Now I have to admit it "reality" all these are is a simple butter cookie with a pink stripe on them.
"Yeah, Right!!!!!!!"
These are PINK STRIPE COOKIES for crying out loud!!!!!!! Okay here is the deal. If you were of Swedish decent and grew up in the city of Jamestown, the only bakery that mattered to your family was Ecklof's. As kid's each time you went in with Mom, Dad, Grandma, or who ever you got a free pink stripe cookie. (And of course the adults bought you Limpa Bread, Scorpers, Cardimen Braids, and my second most favorite treat in the would Almond Tarts).

So as kids we were all brain-washed by these nice people. Now as adults (okay let's say "grown-ups" as some of us are still kids) you drive there like a salmon swimming to its home to spawn.

Who needs drugs when there are AJ's and Pink Stripe Cookies!

Okay finally after arriving in Jamestown I headed to my parents house, with my goodies in tow...
Yep I was home. Kicked off my gym shoes at the front door (my right as first born child)

So this was going to be a quite and relaxing trip . The first night Grandpa & Jo came down for dinner, we played dominos, and I was ready to go to bed. But they insisted on "one more hand". Then there was a ring of the bell...

It was my Sister Barb and her family. The had driven down from upstate. Well Uncle Bob got his second wind right away with the arrival of his nephews. So Ice Cream was in order!! But Grandma had none so the three of us went to the store...

Now I should have taken the camera in the store with us because AJ and Nathaniel spent at least 20 minutes deciding what kind of ice cream they needed to get, and of course each had to have a 1/2 gallon of their own flavor. This lady was watching this insane "ballet of ice cream selection" and came to me and simply stated that "They are not your kids, are they"? We both chuckled, of course not. I was gonna get them hopped up on SUGAR!!! After all isn't that what their diabetic Uncle is supposed to do???

So we get back to Grandma & Grandpa's house...

So of course we needed bananas, hot fudge, caramel, spray whipped cream (like you need to ask what happened with that) nuts & sprinkles.
Hey I am the Uncle you know!

My sister shows off her "Madonna" ala Ice Cream Act. My Mom is thinking that all of her kids are nuts!

The two little perfect nephews just enjoying the ice cream so innocently...  Yeah like I have forgotten what it was like to be a kid!

Suddenly and without warning AJ was attacked by whipped cream!!!

AJ is now planning his revenge. I know 'cause Uncle Bobby helped him!

The next day....

Mothers are Mothers. Well my Mom decided that she would get up and cook breakfast for everyone. Now If I am going have someone cook for me it's normally in a restaurant, but Mom wanted to make breakfast!

Here she is at the stove cooking pancakes. By the way I am so dead for putting these up on the web, but heck let's face it just how many people besides our family and close friends are there that look at my site? Besides I know that I am the only whacko on the web that looks at peoples websites that I don't know, just to see how sane my family really is!!

She did her best to hide from the camera, and was just in such a confused state. She was laughing so much while protesting that I not take her picture!

See... Can't decide if she wants to laugh, or abort her first born child after 40 years. :)

Finally the cook gets to eat. Yes we did try to get her to sit down, but to her credit she realized that a moving target was harder to get a picture of !!!!!

Okay so we did what ever we did for the morning and early afternoon. So what would the kid's and grandkids of a couple of locals want for lunch?

Duh... like you had to ask!!

So Grandma & Grandpa went and got AJ's for everyone....
Let the feeding frenzy begin!!!!!

AJ (no he was not named after the Texas Hot, but partially after his Uncle Bobby.  Like Andrew my middle name) getting impatient for his share of the loot from the AJ's bag his Mother is unpacking!

Barb on the front porch enjoying her first AJ of the trip. Now Beebs, just how do you eat an AJ Texas Hot?

Ahhh.. gotcha!!

Charles has already killed his AJ's off...

Nathienal and AJ showing that they have eaten their AJ's up, and want more.... All though it looks like AJ has some fries left. Watch out... Uncle Bobby is a fry thief!

Grandpa in the kitchen after the boys are down woofing down lunch.

With that look on her face she is thinking...
       A) God that was a strong onion on that AJ
       B) My kids are nuts. They would eat Ecklof's for breakfast, AJ's for
lunch, and Lenas for dinner every night if I would let them
       C) My Grandchildren are hopped up on sugar and AJ's, I am going
to kill my son for that
       D) Someone take that camera away from Bob
       and the correct answer........

       E) ALL OF THE ABOVE!

A good boy washes his hands after eating and they are covered with AJ sauce!!

AJ ready for bed one night

And Nathenal just not wanting to go to bed just yet....He gets that from his Mother!
